AS SEEN IN THE DAILY TELEGRAPH AND ST GEORGE AND SUTHERLAND SHIRE LEADER JIMMY SEERVAI
JIMMY SEERVAI “GO THE OCTOPUS, this popular Shire venue opened last year. While much of the menu is familiar, and the butter chicken a speciality, there are some interesting options, including Octopus Jhalfrezi, featuring lightly fried octopus with tomato onion and coriander.” A boutique Indian restaurant in Caringbah, Spice Boys, belongs amongst the best Indian restaurants in Sydney. Not only because of the excellent quality of its food but also for a great personality of its owner/manager and front man, Delwar Khan. After working in many famous Indian venues including MLC Centres Indian Mayur, Delwa Khan, or Dell as he is known to his friends and many loyal customers, brings and enormous wealth of experience and professional expertise to his venue in Sutherland Shire.
In 2009 his excellent talents and hard work were rewarded and his venue took its place in an exclusive group of “award winning restaurants” and in 2010 the restaurant was amount the finalist. Spice Boys is a befitting name as the pleasant aroma of a great variety of freshly ground exotic Indian spices engulfs visitors as they first enter the charming new venue. A quietly elegant interior emphasises two prominent points: extremely good taste and absolutely sparklingly cleanliness.
The menu includes many traditional favourites but also a number of unusual tastes and interesting combinations. Entree’s arrive to the table in the form of a platter with delicious selections that make the taste buds dance but are light enough to leave diners looking forward to the main course. Selections for the main course are again fabulous with some items spicier and others milder. Those customers that are not experiences enough in Indian food to be sure what to order are attended to by Dell himself, offering his advice and friendly care. Convenient takeaway and home delivery services are also available and very attractive specials are frequently on offer.
The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday 5pm till late. If you are a connoisseur of Indian food or just a beginner wanting to try something new, you are bound to find Spice Boys very interesting. Jimmy Seervai from the Sunday telegraph called his visit to Spice Boys “an Indian adventure” and asked for the recipe of their vindaloo dish to be published in his column as it has become his favourite. Well, there is top level recognition for you!!!
